Mora County Sheriff’s Office

Services Provided

The Mora County Sheriff’s Office provides a variety of law enforcement services, including:

  • Patrol: The Sheriff’s Office patrols the unincorporated areas of Mora County, as well as the towns of Mora and Wagon Mound.

Mora County Arrest Warrants Search

The Mora County Sheriff's Office maintains a database of active arrest warrants. To search for a warrant, you can either visit the Sheriff's Office in person or search online.

In-Person Search

To search for a warrant in person, you can visit the Mora County Sheriff's Office at State Road 518 Mile Post 29 , Mora, NM 87732, Mora, NM 87732. The Sheriff's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

When you visit the Sheriff's Office, you will need to provide the following information:

  • The name of the person you are searching for
  • The person's date of birth
  • The person's Social Security number (optional)

Online Search

To search for a warrant online, you can visit the Mora County Sheriff's Office website. On the website, click on the "Warrants" tab.

On the Warrants page, you will be able to search for a warrant by name or by case number. If you search by name, you will need to provide the person's first and last name. If you search by case number, you will need to provide the case number that was assigned to the warrant.

Results

Once you have searched for a warrant, the results will be displayed on the screen. The results will include the following information:

  • The name of the person who is wanted
  • The date of the warrant
  • The charge(s) that the person is wanted for
  • The amount of the bond
  • The agency that issued the warrant

If you find that there is an active warrant for your arrest, you should contact the Mora County Sheriff's Office immediately. Failure to appear in court for a warrant could result in your arrest.

Bond Information

What is a Bail Bond?

A bail bond is a financial guarantee that a person will appear in court for their scheduled hearings. Bail is typically set by a judge after a person has been arrested and charged with a crime. The amount of bail is based on the severity of the crime, the person's criminal history, and their ties to the community.

If a person cannot afford to pay their bail, they can hire a bail bondsman. A bail bondsman is a licensed professional who will post the bail for the person in exchange for a fee. The fee is typically 10% of the bail amount.

How to Post a Bond in Mora County

To post a bond in Mora County, you can either contact a bail bondsman or pay the full amount of the bail to the Mora County Sheriff's Office.

If you are using a bail bondsman, the bondsman will post the bail for you and you will be released from jail. You will then be required to pay the bondsman their fee.

If you are paying the full amount of the bail yourself, you can do so by cash, check, or money order. You will need to bring the bail to the Mora County Sheriff's Office at State Road 518 Mile Post 29 , Mora, NM 87732, Mora, NM 87732.

Mora County Most Wanted List

The Mora County Sheriff's Office maintains a list of the county's most wanted fugitives. The list includes individuals who are wanted for serious crimes, such as murder, rape, and robbery.

To view the Mora County Most Wanted List, you can visit the Sheriff's Office website. On the website, click on the "Most Wanted" tab.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of any of the individuals on the Most Wanted List, you are urged to contact the Mora County Sheriff's Office immediately.

Mora County Mugshots

The Mora County Sheriff's Office does not release mugshots to the public. However, mugshots may be obtained through a public records request.

To request a mugshot, you must submit a written request to the Mora County Sheriff's Office at State Road 518 Mile Post 29 , Mora, NM 87732, Mora, NM 87732. Your request must include the following information:

  • The name of the person whose mugshot you are requesting
  • The date of the arrest
  • The charge(s) that the person was arrested for

The Sheriff's Office will charge a fee for processing your request. The fee is currently $5.00 per mugshot.

Once your request has been processed, the Sheriff's Office will mail you the mugshot.

Sex Offender Registry

The Mora County Sheriff's Office maintains a Sex Offender Registry in accordance with the New Mexico Sex Offender Registration Act. The registry contains information about all registered sex offenders who are living in Mora County.

To search the Sex Offender Registry, you can visit the Sheriff's Office website. On the website, click on the "Sex Offender Registry" tab.

On the Sex Offender Registry page, you can search for a specific offender by name or by address. You can also view a map of all registered sex offenders in Mora County.

If you have any information about a sex offender who is not registered, you are urged to contact the Mora County Sheriff's Office immediately.
